I’ve spent the past decade educating writers in all things from the basics of creative writing, to how to get an agent. I work with kids and adults at Gotham, 826NYC, and independently. But first, a word from other people who have worked with me:

“Josh Sippie is a g*****n f****** legend… I’ve been writing for over 10 years, but a few sessions with him and I was given a direction I never had before.”

Query Consulting

I am well-versed in how to approach the querying process. You can see my article, “How To Stop Worrying And Love The Query,” in the Writer Magazine, where I go into as much detail as 2500 words can provide.

I’m happy to share my expertise as a consultant throughout the querying process, from crafting the query, to gathering and planning a list of agents, to how to handle rejection. I’ll walk you through all the resources you should be familiar with—Publishers Marketplace, QueryTracker, Manuscript Wishlist, etc.

It’s a long, arduous process that can be hard to handle alone, so if you are looking for assistance getting through it, you’ve come to the right person. I have years upon years working in this capacity at the New York Pitch Conference and the Gotham Writers Conference.

This is completely customizable. Some writers want help building an agent list, some people want help perfecting the query, some want it all.

Feel free to message me for more details on how I can help!

Character Development

Character is everything. I have developed a custom character study curriculum designed to help you chisel out your cast of characters. It is full of practical writing exercises, homework, and lectures, as well as more than the average amount of GIFs and memes.

If this sounds like your type of tutelage, message me!

And if you want a little free education…
